So i am currently back home in Jersey until tomorrow. It has been a short trip back as i was racing a half marathon for Jersey in the Isle of Wight on Sunday. The race did not go well at all and i could not have felt worse. I think i will just leave it at that with regards to the race. It was a busy travel day Saturday, delay after delay but after catching 5 trains, 1 flight, 1 ferry and 3 busses i made it to the lovely caravan park that the Jersey team were staying in! It was nice to arrive and see all of the team looking smart and excited about racing over the next week. My trip was short, raced sunday morning and then was taken straight down to West Cowes to catch the ferry back to the main land so i could go up to Eton to watch my Juniors compete.
They had a fantastic day with a 1st, two 3rd’s and a lot of happy faces. It was an amazing race, with 100′s of childrean racing throughout the day. The Jersey team performed outstandingly and represented the Island impeccably.
Off to Denmark this weekend and then after this race i wont be competing for a while. I spoke with Brett and i feel now i need to put in some solid work and forget about races. Until i am ready to compete well i wont be putting on race kit. My confidence took a hit last two races so i feel it is what i need to do, without the added pressures. I am sure i will be good to go again soon!!
