It s my first winter in many years!!! i havent seen so much snow in a long long time. I woke up this morning and everything was white, my car was under a mountain of snow! The road are like a ice ring and we do not have many snow plowers here in penticton.

I decided to run part of the ironman canada marathon course today…the last few miles of the course downtown and along the lake where you usualy suffer from the heat and fatigue. Summer are very hot here in the okanagan desert but to see the lake starting to freeze, and the road full of snow…. it s really hard to imagine!

Penticton become a very quiet place in the winter, the population goes down to half is normal size and restaurant, streets, pubs are deserted.

I m enjoying it a lot this way as you have lot of quiet time, and it s a nice change from the crazy summers.

I went to the pool tonight and swam 3km in between the kids playing in my lane and the parents doing walking and jogging… it s a crowded pool….many challenge here!

I m starting to miss the hot weather of new mexico and subic bay…yeah…i miss that killer hot humidity climat!!! Perhaps a training camp this winter??!!!

never ski this early in my life….but i need to move as much as possible and keep the body as fit as possible…. with the snow in the mountain…. it was time to get the work done

Well, it become a bit more clear that this summer, during a very hard race in Oliver, Bc, i injured pretty badly my knee. Strain, tear? i dont know what happen but my body had shifted and didnt want to put weight on it anymore. The day after the race, i was in very much pain…not a normal pain.

Over the past months, it s been a very frustrating rehabilitation process, difficulte to stay positive, to maintain some kind of fitness when biking , running and swimming also hurt.

The last few weeks have been more positive as i been doing a lot better in the pool, running with a bit of consistancy but biking as still remain a very challenging activity.

So, i found a way to keep on improving the fitness and moving that hip region muscle and getting them to work a bit. Rollerski! Yes, lots of nordic skiier do this in the summer to stay in touch with the sport… it s a lot of fun, you end up going at speed over 30km/h and the hr goes to the sky quickly…

VEGAS!!!!!! I pass the last 4 days in Las Vegas at interbike! I have always dream of going to this show and was very suprise by it. It s huge huge huge!!!! about 4 football field of bike and parts!!! most of the company! all the toys!!!!

I have pass a bit of time with some of our sponsors to learn about there new product and what is coming up soon!

I m now back to penticton, bc. Still in the recovery process after one of my biggest ever injury in my career. I m slowly settling back into a solid routine with a lot of work to do to get the fitness back up. Training the body to be able to handle the training stress.

If everything goes well, i hope to be back at the start line of a race soon! I miss it very much and feel hungry as ever to race again! Weather as been amazing here and it just feel like summmer dosnt want to go away! Hope this will last, i like sunny and warm and swimming in the lake this late in the year!

AKA, middle of nowhere!!! I arrived 3 days after ironman canada to the most beautifull and quiet place i have ever seen! On the shore of the atlantic ocean, in nova scotia in this town of about 2000 people. I made the trip here to work with a specialist that will hopefully help me out in the road to healing this knee that is giving me a hard time this season.

I had a good but difficulte day at ironman canada this year! It was awesome to see both my friends, jordan rapp and Tereza Macel win my home race but very difficulte to be on the side line and not be able to have a shot at the win this year.

Now, i m following a slow process plan of one step at the time to get back to normal training. A mix of walk run, swimming in the ocean, riding on the country road of nova scotia…and just building up slowly….

I m out for a 10min walk…should be plenty to make a full loop of the town….say hello to everyone living here and see if there is anything new in town! Those small place are very special…definitly a place to discover….

We are now 7 days from race day. It is another ironman canada in my home town. The only difference been that this year, for the first time in 5 year, i will be on the sideline watching and injured. As this time of the year usualy show my top shape and best spirit, i presently find myself struggling and working hard to get my body to get back into the groove of training.

I m presently on slow build up of running and swimming with very light biking. Trying to build up slowly until the body give me to go ahead to resume full training. The patience game!!!

The good news is, i have one teamates here! Teresa Macel is in town and will be racing on the women pro field. She is having a amazing season and should be one of the favorite for the win. I will be there to cheer her up!

ok…time for my short run…!!!

took 5h to build as i wanted to learn everything about the new cable routing and rear break mecanism… i think i understand everything pretty well now after investigating everything! Now, just need some new extension, cut the fork a bit more, put the jonnyo drinking system at the front and behind the set and the bike should be ready for war!
