With a disappointing 5th place, I finished my first race in Europe at the 70.3 in St. Pölten. Well you can`t always have a “happy day” if you race, I know that but is still hard to accept.
In the race, first of all I got totally lost in the swim followed by a weak performance on the bike. I felt exhausted and tired all day. Several times I check whether it had a flat tire or if are the brake pads rubbing on the wheel … but no, it was only me who was responsible for this slow pace.
Back at camp I had a talk to Brett. “I`m happy you finished top10 “… he said. Pardon??? Did I missed something? Did I overestimated myself? Simple and logical he told me the reason for his opinion. Now I see the whole story more relaxed, “thank you coach!”
I`ll keep going the good work and stay focused to achieve my goals. Wish me luck, THANK YOU
